 FN Herstal, the original designer of SS109 cartridge

FN Herstal is the original designer of the military 5.56x45mm SS109 cartridge, which was adopted by NATO as the second official standardized calibre in 1980.

7.62x51mm

A world standard that ensures safe and reliable operation of rifles and machine guns

The new military cartridge in 7.62x51mm calibre was designed and developed by FN Herstal. It was adopted as NATO standard in 1957 and is still widely used today.

FN® .50 cal ammunition line now includes a reduced range cartridge

FN Herstal is a major contributor to the 12.7 NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) used for Defence missions. The Company is the current supplier of the 12.7x99mm calibre NATO reference round.
