The FN DEFNDER® Medium is a rugged, medium-weight remote weapon station (RWS) built with a stabilized mount, integrated optics and fire control system, and a modular architecture capable of mounting a variety of weapons up to .50 caliber on land vehicles and static platforms while keeping the operator protected under armor.

Designed for 24/7 remote operation, it supports integration of FN Herstal machine guns (including high-rate FN M3R), 40 mm automatic grenade launchers, and even larger cannons via modular kits, and offers day/night cameras, gyroscopic stabilization, target tracking, wide angles of operation, laser rangefinding with ballistic calculation, round counting/burst limits, and interfaces with battle management systems.
