Construction

The FN FCU MK3 is a compact, rugged fire control unit with an integrated high-performance optoelectronic aiming system, laser rangefinder, environmental and motion sensors, and ballistic computer housed in a weather-resistant, ergonomic body that can mount on grenade launchers using a Picatinny rail interface.

Key Features

Designed to dramatically improve first-round hit probability with 40 mm low-velocity and medium-velocity grenades, it automatically calculates trajectory adjustments, compensates for lateral drift, provides fast day/night target acquisition, includes visible/IR laser pointers, and offers quick detach capability while remaining compatible with a wide range of standalone or under-barrel launchers.

Maintenance

Maintenance for the FN FCU MK3 primarily involves keeping optical windows and sensors clean, checking the laser and mounting interfaces for secure alignment, and following the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure reliable performance under extreme conditions (e.g., −32 °C to +65 °C, water/sand/mud resistance).
