Construction
The FN LICC-IWS is a modular individual weapon system built around FN’s Improved Performance Carbine (IPC) platform in 6.5×43 mm LICC, featuring a long-stroke gas piston action with robust ambidextrous controls, adjustable folding stock, and a proprietary architecture optimized for reliability and ease of operation.
Key Features
Designed for modern military use, it fires lightweight .264/6.5×43 mm LICC ammunition from purpose-built 25-round polymer magazines and includes a quick-detach suppressor, multiple barrel length options (CQB, carbine, RECCE/DMR), and fully ambidextrous ergonomics, delivering enhanced lethality, accuracy, and reduced recoil compared to legacy 5.56 platforms.
Maintenance
Maintenance for the LICC-IWS focuses on regular cleaning and inspection of the long-stroke gas piston system, bolt carrier group, suppressor interface, and ambidextrous controls, with unit-level armorer training emphasized to sustain reliability and serviceability in demanding operational conditions.
