FN SmartCore® is an integrated electronic shot-counting system built into the firearm’s trigger group or grip that uses internal sensors to detect and record firing events, distinguishing between live, blank, and dry firing without requiring an external power source or altering weapon handling.
Key Features
Designed for military and law enforcement small arms management, it digitally logs shot counts, cyclic and effective rates of fire, and weapon usage data which can be combined with FN’s SAM software to streamline preventive maintenance, lifecycle tracking, and fleet readiness.
Maintenance
The SmartCore® system is maintenance-free in operation since it generates its own power and requires no user intervention, but armory personnel use the data it records to plan service intervals, assess component wear, and optimize weapon fleet maintenance practices.
